20th November update
Two weeks since the last update but the Cornerstone Centre refurbishment is as we always say really coming along. The last time I visited the foundations for the staircase had been installed and today the stairs are there. The welders were in and working on the fittings for the stairs but for the first time I was able to access the top floor of the hall and the space is really coming alive.
Fittings for the glass doors had been installed and I believe the builders are now waiting for BT to come in and install the phone lines, which is holding up things. The ground floor of the hall is now effectively being used as a storage/machining/working area so it’s as busy as ever there.
Lights have been installed in the graveyard above the doors and I’ll get photos of these next time and that’s it for today. I’ve left some comments under the photos below so do have a read and I’ll be back in two weeks to take more photos and get another update.
The stars have been roughly installed and while I was there they were still cutting metal and installing. Great to see the stairs in though and this allowed me to access all three floors for the first time.
View from the first flight of stairs. The basement is now basically being used as a storage area.
One of the office spaces upstairs.
Main entrance to the hall. The door is being custom made as of this time.
Top floor space. The cubicle on the right is to be a toilet.
Upstairs office areas. The grey tracks you can see on the floor in the upper two photos are where the sliding doors will be installed. It’s almost a shame that desks and the like will be installed as it will cover up a lot of the awesome work that has been done.
Top floor overlooking east side of the hall.
