1st November update
It’s been around five weeks since the last update of the Cornerstone Centre refurbishment and now that Kerrigan has left Chris, the photographer, is taking over writing duties (for now). I work on a voluntary basis with the church but recently I’ve been immensely busy with work so the timelapse of the church has had to be put on hold but with just a few weeks to go I’m planning on popping over more regularly again and seeing the project to it’s finish.
The last time I visited the One World Shop was just being fitted and it’s now complete. I’ve written about this below and also took a few photos today.
Elsewhere with the build, the scaffolding that led to the roof has been taken away. There are I believe 11 joiners working on site to get all the fittings in. I saw an electrician doing something with the wiring and in the upper part of the new mezzanine in the main hall the builders were busy putting things together.
In the first photo of the build you can see a girder towards the upper right of the photo which has been in preparation for the stairs. I spoke to the site manager and he said installing the stairs is going to be one of the biggest jobs of the build but it will be exciting to see how it looks. The painters are also coming in soon so everything will be cleaned, painted and then they’re good to go.
