17th February update
This week’s update has a few things going on. First of all the west wall that will be the new entrance to the Cornerstone Centre is really going up and it looks really great. It will eventually feature double doors with a sliding glass door inside – to keep the draughts out! The scaffolding in the main hall is starting to come down and just outside the main hall is the last remaining piece of the grand piano.
It’s a real shame seeing the grand piano in pieces but it transpired that while a lot of people discussed taking it away, when push came to shove no-one was willing to go on site and collect it. So unfortunately the builders had to break it up. What remains is some of the wires from inside the piano which are apparently impossible to cut through.
Last change this week is the central area in the basement/old cafe area has now been closed off. It’ll be interesting to see how this progresses.
